Through Their Eyes poetry contest has 8 postcards available to request or download for your students crammed with inspiration. Each card is themed with ideas on one side and a quote on the reverse with the intention of creating a buzz around poetry writing! Some will cause debate, some are light-hearted and others are gritty, perhaps even controversial.
From world leaders and influencers to being a teen and the animal kingdom, there’s something to engage every student. Students can interpret the themes and ideas as they wish.
Their challenge is to write a poem from someone or something’s point of view
Only one entry per student, there is no limit to the number of entries per school
Independent entrants are welcome, please provide your full postal address rather than the school's details
Poems can be on the entry form or a sheet of paper
Poems must be your students' own work
Ensure that all student include their name and age on their entries

The school who submits the best set of entries will win the Young Writers’ Award of Excellence
Our 5 favorite poets will each win $100!
Ask students to write their poem, ensuring their name, last name and age are included on the entry form. Alternatively, entries can be typed and submitted by upload or email.
